Abstract

This study aims to determine how the facilities for supporting archival services at the Library and Regional Archives ( BPAD ) D.I Yogyakarta is already in line with the theory and recommended standards or not, by evaluating. Types of research used in this study is qualitative. Research object is for supporting archival services include the availability of archive reading room, consultation room, room service staff archives, special cupboard ( locker ), archive retrieval tool, a means of special libraries ( reference ), a special space for reading, transit space as a store archive archives, read the archive tools, system security archive. Methods of data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. While the techniques of qualitative data analysis is done interactively and continues over time until complete, so the data is already saturated which includes data reduction, data presentation, draw conclusions or verification. Data validity checking is done by testing the credibility, transferability, dependability, konfirmability. The results showed that the means of supporting the activities of archive services at the Library and Regional Archives ( BPAD ) Special Region of Yogyakarta can be categorized not enough to support the activities of archive services. Of ten for supporting archival services are available to support five activities of archive services include: archives reading room, room service staff archives, Special cabinets ( Locker ), archive retrieval tool, and means of special libraries. And five were not available as a means of supporting the activities of archive services such as consulting rooms, dedicated space for reading, transit space archives, archives reading aids, and security system archive.
