Abstract

Library as a source of information has a strategic role and has a big opportunity in the field of management and information dissemination. Currently the Internet is an excellent medium for dissemination of information which in 2013 predicted the Internet users in Indonesia reached 82 million. This study aimed to evaluate the internet services that have been provided by the Library of the Faculty of Biology, University of Gadjah Mada. This research is descriptive research with quantitative approach. Data collection techniques using three (3) methods, namely observation, questionnaires and literature study. Variables uses in Library Internet Services is Evaluation of Internet Services Quality at the Library of Faculty of Biology, University of Gadjah Mada. Sub-variables using five (5) characteristics qualify of services, namely the reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangible. Results of this study indicate that the internet service in the Library of Faculty of Biology, University of Gadjah Mada leveled at a good with categorized by class interval 2,51 to 3,25. It is shown from the results of calculations using formula mean that the total value of all variables is 2,54 consistsof 2,71 for reliability, 2.57 for responsiveness, 2.57 for assurance, 2.46 for empathy, and 2.41 for tangible. From these results suggested to improve the quality of Internet service personnel, increase bandwidth capacity, adding more device for internet services.
