Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know user’s response towards reference service quality at the library of the law faculty of UII yogyakarta. The method of this research is quantitative descriptive method, with the subjects of the research is the member of the library, while the research’s object is the user’s response towards reference service quality at the library of the law faculty of UII Yogyakarta. The population of the research is all member of the library that numbered 1.556 people. From that population taken sample based on Yamane formula be find number of sample 94 people. Taking sample using accidental sampling technique. Variable of this research has single characteristic named user’s response towards reference service quality at the library of the law faculty of UII yogyakarta. The method and technique that using in data collecting named observation method, documentation, interview and questionnaire. The data is analyzed by using formula of mean and grand mean. Measuring the reference service quality based on Likert’s scale (4-1), that the results are interpreted is to be very good, good, bad, and very bad. This research shows that user’s response towards reference service quality at the library of the law faculty of UII Yogyakarta is good with the sum of the result averages number 2,75. The study is expected to provide input to the library to improve the quality of reference services to staff reference should always be deft in handling the request to user.
