Abstract

DVD movie cover design is very important for the progress of the advertising and film industry, the factors affecting the container is in terms of cover design, cover materials, and content cover design. The above factors are the foundation the creation of a product that generates benefits for consumers. Product is closely related to the sale or purchase of the consumer to the product DVD movies. Problem in this research is fierce competition among dealers of pirated cassettes that focus on different design cover maker of pirated DVDs to one another. The purpose of this research was to describe the influence of the DVD movie piracy cover design piracy against purchase decision. The theory is used as the basis in this research is the theory of mass communication, non verbal communication, marketing mix, and the theory of purchasing decisions. This research uses quantitative methods. Sampling methods used in this research among other questioner and documentation methods. The population in this research were consumers who visit the Max Studio. The sample technique used was accidental sampling is sampling on the basis of respondents happen to be in the same place at the time of the research, amounting to 100 respondents. Hypothesis test results can be summarized as follows. Correlation coefficient of 0.297 is greater than 0.195 r table. It can also be seen from the sig. 0.03 less than the significance level of 0.05 (0.03> 0.05). Can be interpreted that there is a correlation or relationship between variables X and Y. According to the research and discussion to prove that hypothesis (Ho) is rejected or no effect on DVD movie piracy cover design piracy against purchase decision in the Max Studio (Ha) accepted that there is influence of the DVD movie piracy cover design piracy against purchase decision in the Max Studio or there is a correlation between DVD movie piracy cover design against purchase decision. The correlation table based on the guidelines Guilford, influence or correlation between the DVD movie piracy cover design against purchase decision in the Max Studio can be seen from the correlation coefficient value of 0.297 which is in the interval 0.20 to 0.40 are included in the category of low relationship.
