Abstract

One of the post-production stages in animation production is the process of rendering animation that combines Modeling, Mapping (Texturing), Rigging, Layout, animating, and Shading and Lighting. Rendering process is still often rely on a computer that has a high computational speed of the processor used in order to be resolved quickly. One concept that technology can be adapted to solve the rendering is a server farm, which utilizes the computing power of multiple computers in the same location to complete a specific task . This study uses DRqueue which installed on the master computer to manage the queue and workload sharing on each computer that will complete the task slave rendering. Steps of this research designing network, includes designing network topology, configuration and design of the system, the implementation of the system design includes sharing configuration directory, the configuration of the master and slave configuration, and testing system that includes test rendering speed, speedup testing, compatibility testing blend file, distribution of workload, stress test and testing blackbox testing. Based on system test results of Blackbox, obtained percentage of 80 % agree the system can run well, and 20 % said the system can not handle well the project file compatibility test. Further, about speedup test, speedup tests are divided into three categories, the first is fewer category with 3 slaves which produce speedup value of 2.64, seconds is medium category with 7 slaves which produces speedup values 7.4 and the last category is large category with 13 slaves which produces speedup values 12.33. The stress test results obtained percentage of 56.25 % disagreed stress test system can handle well. Overall, the system has been running well but still less reliable in dealing with file compatibility project and in terms of dealing with the stress test .
