Abstract

This thesis discusses the process of processing the periodical as well as problem at the Office of The Public Library District Bantul. According to the above problem formulation, and the purpose of this research is to understand more profound about the process of processing the periodical as well as problem at the Office of The Public Library District Bantul. This research is the research case studies with descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection by means of observation, interviews with some of the informants, and documentation. An informer in research is the head of the processing and a librarian the processing. The results of this research is the process of processing the periodical at The Office of The Public Library District Bantul includes examination, granting of cap/marks, recording on the card, binding machines, and storage. The problems in processing the periodical form of limited the librarian, security collection, and lack infrastructures and means. A suggestion that is writer give it is processing issue a periodical at The Office of The Public Library District Bantul we recommend that you do photocopying articles interesting, photocopying a magazine table of contents, index creation, and making clipping to newspapers.
