Abstract

This research aimed to (1) produce an assessment tool by using simulation technique, (2) to know the quality of the assessment tool by using simulation technique according to judgements and student’s respon (3) to determine the item analysis results of assessment simulation which developed; validity, reliability, index discrimination, difficulty index and to knowing the usability of this instrument, (4) to know students’s ability in the assessment tool by using simulation technique. The procedure of this development research adapted from Four-D model development, consist of Define, Design, and Deveop. The subject of this research are the student of XI Science 1 class in MAN Lab UIN, XI Science 1, 2, and 3 class in MAN Yogyakarta 3. The instrument which are used to collect data in this researh are (1) questionnaire of content validity and product assessment for assesment experts, assessment experts, media experts, and physics teachers, and (2) questionnaire of students respond for the product. Results of this research are: (1) have been produced a set of assessment with simulation techniques of fluid mechanics material, (2) the quality of the assessment tool by using simulation technique is excellent quality, ie its score are 3.75 according to expert assessment & mater, 3.83 according to media expert, and 3.42 according to physics teacher, and have excelent quality (positive) according to student’s respon.(3) Based from results of item analysis, assessment with simulations techniques have been meeting the criteria of valid, reliable, anda usable. This based from analysis of validity item test with significance level of 5%, the value of reliability are 0.82 (high category) for essays and 0.24 (lower category) for short answer questions. Usability of assessment with simulations techniques according to educational practitioners and expert assessment and materials have been meet the criteria very well with a score of 3.36 and 3.82. 80% short answer tests has poor diskrimination index and 86.67% filling tests has satisfactory diskrimination index. 66,67% short answer tests are easy, 6,67% are moderate, and 26,67% are difficult. 50% filling test are categored easy and 50% are categored difficult (4) aplication ability had being included in short answer test and syntesis ability had being included in filling test. Knowledge ability, comprehension ability, and analysis ability had being random distributed in the assessment with simulations techniques
