Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine differences in higher order thinking skills of students who take DELC learning model using the PBL with DELC learning model using teacher learning, (2) determine whether an increase in higher-order thinking skills of students who take DELC learning model using PBL higher than with students who take DELC learning models using teacher learning, (3) determine whether there is influence DELC models using PBL to higher level thinking skills of students. This study is a quasi experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. Variables in the study included the independent variables such as DELC learning models use PBL, as well as the dependent variable is higher-order thinking skills of students. The population in this study were all class of X at SMA Negeri 7 Yogyakarta. The samples in this study with purposive sampling technique, so the class was selected as the control class and X.5 X.8 class as a class experiment. Using test data collection techniques. The instrument used is a matter of pretest, posttest questions. Analysis using statistical parametric independent samples t test and paired sample t test. The results showed that there were differences in higher-order thinking skills among students who take DELC learning model using PBL compared to students who take DELC model learning use conventional methods (independent samples t test with Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 ≤ 0.05, then Ha is accepted). An increase in higher-order thinking skills of students who take DELC learning model using PBL is higher than DELC learning model using conventional methods (value Asymp. Sig. (1-tailed) independent samples t test = 0.000 ≤ 0.05, then Ha is accepted). DELC model learning using PBL effect on higher order thinking skills of students.
