Abstract
One of the important things that support the success of an institution or organization is a good management. In its development in this global era, management may be an integrated system, which is better known as the management information system. Therefore, as an education institute, school management information system built to MA Darussalam. The method used in this development system is a waterfall. The steps are requirements analysis, system design, implementation, system testing, and maintenance. The system is built using object-oriented design with UML (Unified Modeling Language) modeling. School management information system was created with the PHP programming language and MySQL as a database. The features available in this system include student and teacher data management, financial management, academic, statistical reporting, and integration into social media twitter as a means to deliver the latest news related school information by utilizing the twitter API. School management information system is expected to help schools manage the data and to communicate information efficiently and practically. The test results declared that 98.8% of functional system has been running well and 1.2% said the system is not running properly. Then, for the usability testing of the system, gained 76% strongly agree, 24% agree, neutral, disagree, and strongly disagree 0%. On aspects of information delivery via twitter, 90% answered yes or agree that the twitter information can be easily conveyed, and 10% answered no.
