Abstract

This research aims to determine correlation between perception to the negative news of media about Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) and interest to choose Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) at general elections 2014 in organizers of Lembaga Dakwah Kampus (LDK). The hypothesis of this research is there is a negative correlation between perception to the negative news of media about Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) and interest to choose Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) at general elections 2014 in organizers of Lembaga Dakwah Kampus (LDK). Subjects of this research were 82 students as an organizers of Lembaga Dakwah Kampus (LDK) from six universities in Yogyakarta were Islamic state university Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta (Uinversitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta), Gadjah Mada university (Universitas Gajah Mada Yogyakarta), Muhammadiyah university of Yogyakarta (Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta), State university of Yogyakarta (Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta), Ahmad Dahlan university (Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Yogyakarta), and Islamic university of Indonesia (Universitas Islam Indonesia Yogyakarta). The simple random sampling technique was chosen as a technique for took samples of this research. The instrument of data collection that used in this research were interest to choose scale and perception to the negative news of media about PKS scale. The data analyze by pearson correlation using SPSS version 16.00 program for windows. The results of the data analysis acquired the values of correlation (rxy) = -0,743 and p = 0,000 (p< 0,001). The analysis results showed that there was negative correlation between perception to the news of media and interest to choose Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS),it mean more negative perception of students to the news of media so higher interest to choose Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS). Therefore, hypothesis was accepted. Perception to the negative news of media about PKS on organizers of Lembaga Dakwah Kampus (LDK) had effective correlation 55 % as indicated by the R square = 0,553.
