Abstract
This research aims to determine the relationship of emotional intelligence and professionalita of library staff in the Office of Library and Archives Kulon Progo. This research is a descriptive survey using a quantitative approach. The variable in this research is emotional intelligence variables (independent variables) and the library staff performance (dependent variable). Methods of data collection using questionnaires, and documentation. Analysis of data using product moment correlation and processed using SPSS version 17 for windows. The results showed that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and professionalita of library staff in the Office of Library and Archives Kulon Progo. These results indicated the correlation value of 0,750 with a strong relationship further significant level of 0,000<0,05, So it can be stated that there is a real or significant relationships between variables. Emotional intelligence library staff in the Office of Library and Archives Kulon Progo otherwise well proven from the calculation of the grand mean of 3,24 and professionalism owned library staff in the Office of Library and Archives Kulon Progo Regency can be categorized either by the calculation of the grand mean of 3,22, From these results the authors give advice or recommend that more library staff to try and learn again to understand the people around him should further the Library and Archives Office of Kulon Progo, reviewing existing systems work in the Office of Library and Archives Kulon Progo.
