Abstract

A study on the fraction structure of sodium chloride crystalline phase from brine water bledug kuwu as crystallization time function based on X Ray diffraction pattern was conducted. This study aimed to analyze crystal of salt from X Ray diffraction and analyze the influence of crystallization time on the crystal structure of salt. The first step in this study was heating salted water at 100°C from brine water source bledug kuwu. Next, salt water was heated with crystallization time variations 21 hours, 22 hours, 23 hours, 24 hours, and 25 hours. NaCl powders resulted were characterized using XRD (X Ray Diffraction) equipment to discover crystal fields, formation of phase fraction and crystal size formed and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) to discover the morphology of the samples. XRD characterization showed that NaCl sample of brine water is dominated by face centered cubic structure. Phase fraction showed that salt in brine water contains NaCl, KCl, NH4Cl and LiCl compounds. While based on SEM the particles formed are dominated by NaCl particle in size 33μm.
