Abstract

This descriptive study aimed to objectively described the circumstances and conditions which can be viewed from an object of study. In this study the condition of the object in question is the image of peace in the Korean drama “The King 2 Hearts”. North Korea and South Korea are two countris with different ideologies. These differences caused by tension, and became the background for that reason even though North Korea and South Korea are a region of the mainland and also one clump, but both are very different. This drama featuring the element of cooperation and the strong desire of the authorities in the two Koreas for peace and unification of Korea. I also conduct further research throught interviews to several informants regarding the image formation of peace included : perception, cognition, motivation, and attitudes. Through this study, the author gets a picture message of peace as what is delivered and how the image of North Korea and South Korea were formed in the minds of informants after watching and observing this Korean drama. The informants were selected to be the respondent are students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta who have watched this Korean drama before. Based on the research results, it could be conclude that there is imaging in the Korean drama “The King 2 Hearts” that contain a positive message of peace, through the unification of North Korea and South Korea as a team in event „Officer World Championship‟ ( WOC ) and also the marriage of King South Korea and North Korean Officer with the aim of building a better relationship in the future. From this study we concluded that a peaceful solution through diplomatic channels depicted in Korean drama is getting better and good response to the positive image of the state of North Korea and South Korea.
