Abstract

This research aims to describe the shape of the speech act (illocutionary) in reading aloud as a strategy to love books and the response given by people who listen to the readings. This research uses a pragmatic approach and the focus of research is the ability to read aloud the novel Libri di Luca and the response of those who listen to the reading. This type of research is the library research. The methods of data collection uses reading and recording and documentation. The main data source in this research is the form of text contained in the novel Libri di Luca Mikkel Birkegaard works published by PT Porch Science Universe, third printing, April 2010 588 pages thick book. Complementary data sources in this research are the results of research, or works related to research. To test the validity of data using data validity semantics. The method of analyzing data is content analysis. The results of this research is that in the novel Libri di Luca there are reading ability loud, they are 1) choose the theme, type/title of the book; 2) read the introduction; 3) set the tempo (speed reading); 4) dramatization; 5) love and enjoy reading; 6) read with ease and concentration; 7) appearance of emotion; 8) clear sound. Form of reading aloud technique as a strategy that love books is 1) Selection of appropriate titles; 2) Using the right techniques. The response given by people who listen to the reading namely 1) very interested in the text that is read; 2) appreciate the story as if he is in a story that is read; 3) affected by the content sorpurpose of reading. The application of techniques to read aloud in the library world, namely 1) reading aloud as one reading coaching program; 2) promotion through lectures library.
