Abstract

Research has been conducted on lithology identification geothermal manifestations area Parangwedang Bantul DIY with Magnetic Method. The goal is to determine the value of the residual anomaly magnetic field, the subsurface lithology geothermal manifestations Parangwedang and distribution of geothermal manifestations ishotermal Parangwedang area. Data collection was carried out during the day an area of 500 m x 800 m with a spacing of 25 m and 100 m using a Precision Proton Magnetometer (PPM) and water well data retrieval using mercury thermometers. Data processing was done with diurnal correction, correction IGRF, upward continuation, reduction to the pole, and the distribution pattern ishotermal. Interpretation of the data was done quantitatively and qualitatively. Qualitative interpretation was done by analyzing the local anomaly that has been in the reduction and distribution poles to ishotermal hot water temperature while the quantitative interpretation was done by analyzing the local anomaly that has been done to the reduction to the pole and upward continuation to a height of 250 m which has been modeled by using software Mag2DC. Qualitative interpretation of the results, the value of anomalous magnetic field reduction to the pole is -2400 nT to 1000 nT and quantitative interpretation of the results of modeling AA 'and BB' indicate the presence of basalt rock, andesite, andesite unchangeable, volcanic breccia, and alluvium with the distribution of well water temperature 50 oC to 27 oC.
