Abstract

This research aims to find out the efforts that are made by the library officer related to the function of school library. Moreover, it is conducted to find out the utilization of library facilities by the user of An-Nafid library. The functions of library that are discussed in this research are educative function, informative function, administrative responsibility function, riset function, and recreative function (Bafadal, 2011:6). The research entitled Implementation Of Library Function In The An-Nafid Muhammadiyah Sapen Elementary School Yogyakarta Library uses qualitative research method. For method and technique of collecting data, it applies observation, interview, and documentation. It uses credibility test for testing plan of data validity. For the way how it is applied, it uses perseverence improvement, triangulation, discussion with friends, and member check. While for data analysis method and data analysis technique, it applies Mettew B. Miles and A. Michael Hubermen method; data reduction, data peresentation, and verification. For the result is, 1) educative function; providing based on curriculum collection, program creation related to reading interest, and alternative class, 2) informative function; providing non-book and reference collection, providing reservoir service, doing promotion, having class library, creating collaboration, and helping the search, 3) administrative responsibility function; noting the borrowing and the returning, creating KTA, and always applying discipline in the library, 4) riset function; providing the collection that supports the research, doing mini riset for student through giving assignment and creating synopsis and clipping, giving training of simple research, 5) recreative function; library layout, movie box and edutoys activities, arranging inter-class competition, and giving the understanding to the student that recreation in the library is a spiritual recreation.
