Abstract

This study aims to know the library user perception about OPAC as a media of information retrieval with using HOT Fit approach in MAN Yogyakarta I library. This research use quantitative descriptive method and the research subject are the students as library user of MAN Yogyakarta I. And also the object of this research is library user perception about OPAC as a media of information retrieval with using HOT Fit approach. The students in grade X and XI that is listed in MAN Yogyakarta I are 459 students. From these populations, the sample that is taken by the researcher is 10 %, based on the Bilson Simamora pattern and from these populations are obtaining 82 students as samples. The researcher uses incidental sampling technique. The variable of this research is singular variable, the perception of library user about OPAC as a media of information retrieval with using HOT Fit approach. This study uses several techniques and methods in collect the data: questionnaire, observation, documentation and interview. Data analyzing uses Mean and Grand Mean formula. The measurement of library user perception about OPAC is based on Likert scale (4-1) the result is very good, good, bad and very bad. The result of this research show that library user perception about OPAC as a media retrieval information with using HOT Fit in the library of MAN Yogyakarta I is good, the result of average total is 3,12. This research is expected can give contribution or suggestion to the library in the case of information retrieval.
