Abstract

Education is a means to equip men to have a better life, because after all human beings are given the tremendous potential provision of God in the form of positive and negative potentials (fa alhamahafujuroha taqwaha). However, up to now, education is not more than a tool of hegemony over the other parties, so that it only produces winners and losers (winner and looser). It needed a path way to give solution to the current problems. If you go back to the colonized era, actually many intellectuals in this country has been thinking about this. The condition of the colonized era in the past is at least similar to the current conditions in which the Indonesian was colonized in terms of intellectual colonization. As the result, this country becomes consumtive nation. Ahmad Dahlan s thought with modernity in life has provided good atmosphere for the peoples life at that time and it still continues up to now with the occurrence of organization Muhammadiyah. Comprehensive thought based on philosophy has made the figure of Ahmad Dahl an are able to practice religious teachings proportionately and targeted so as to release the people from colonialism physically as well as mentally.
