Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of tafakur a backpacker community in Yogyakarta that Bani Saman community, describe how the tafakur process will be undertaken by community members Bani Saman. further research will illustrate how individual profil before and after the tafakur process Then find the factors that supported the process of tafakur. This study used a qualitative method with phenomenological approach, method used in data collection were interviews (semi-structured) and participant observation. Informants in this study amounted to three members of the community with three informants age above 20 years. The findings in this study indicate that the process of tafakur in Bani community Saman done by observing natural phenomena by traveling to various regions. Tafakur is the process of integrating the three components: physical, emotional and intellectual, physical components, namely a knowledge obtained from sensory function, then emotion in shape after persespsi empirically by the five senses and intellectual cognitive activity that occurs when these conditions. Then, if the result of the integration of the three components of this person transcended to God then someone was going to increase the quality of the personal to the transpersonal. Influence the process of meditation on Bani Saman community members is increasing spiritual dimension within each anggot then ultimately have a positive impact on the psychological condition of the members.
