Abstract

This research was performed to find out the management of Electronic Commerce Service-Based Information, located at Scientific Information and Documentation Centre, Indonesian Institute of Sciences (PDII-LIPI). The research methodology used descriptive qualitative method, data collection using documentation technique, observations and in-depth interviews. The research took five informants to be interviewed. During each interview, the researcher used a recorder and he also noted important points conveyed by the informants. The data were analyzed based on Kahmad theory with three methods conducted by the researcher; (1) data reduction, (2) data display (3) conclusions and verifications. The research result concludes that the Management of Electronic Commerce Service-Based Information at PDII-LIPI is performed by making information packs which are later administered using Electronic Commerce service, and each user that will be charged with access fee, according to Non-Tax State Revenue of Indonesian Institute of Sciences Number 106 of 2014. Meanwhile, the forms of information packs administered include Business Guidebook Series, Industrial Tree, Literature Review, Indonesian information Focus, Special information Packs and Digital Information Packs. For user the entire information packs can be ordered through a special Information Desk which directly present in Library and Information Retrieval Services for users who do not have time to come to the Library. While the suggestions and recommendations that should be noted are the importance of increase in human resources of the officers, particularly in the field of information technology, the level of information content validity being administered should be noted more thoroughly and promotional activities should be more propagated.
