Abstract

This research aims to 1) develop an authentic assessment instrument through a process of research and development, 2) determine the quality of authentic assessment instrument that has been developed according to the expert of evaluation, 3) determine the response of teachers toward authentic assessment instrument that has been developed. This research is the research development with procedural models that adapting the development of research procedures according to Thiagarajan with 4- D models, namely Define, Design, Develope, and Disseminate. This research is performed only at the stage of Develop and it’s restricted on a limited trial. The research instrument are validation sheet, quality assessment sheet, and teacher response sheet. Assesment instrument for expert of evaluation and to determine teacher response is by using a Likert scale that is done in the form of a checklist. The result of the research is a qualitative data which is converted into quantitative data, then being analyzed according to the guidelines of the criteria of assesment category for determining the quality of authentic assessment instrument that has been developed. The results of this research are authentic assessment instrument as a performance assessment, a written test assessment, self-assessment, assessment among friends, project appraisal, and portofolio assessment. The result of the overall quality assesment calculation is 3,58. After being analyzed, the developed product is having Very Good (VG) quality because it is in the range of score > 3.25 − 4. The results of the teacher response toward the developed product on a limited trial is obtained an average yield of 3,10. After being analyzed, the teacher response toward developed product is Agree (A) because it is in the range of score > 2,5 − 3,25. Based on the results of the assessment and teacher response toward the developed authentic assessment instrument indicates that the product can be used as one of the teachers guidelines in making appraisal. .
