Abstract

Deaf Art Community is a community of people who have disability such as deaf base of Yogyakarta. This research seeks how the communications process of those people when they are playing theater, the play called “Show „ur Soul”. This research entitled Non Verbal Communications Message in Theater (Descriptive Content Analysis Study at Deaf Art Community). The result from this research is the non verbal communications which done by deaf people are tend to use classified non verbal message such as emblem, illustrator, and affect display. Body and hand movements often to use while classified non verbal affect display message preserve non verbal communications which performed by body and hand movements. Sometimes, verbal communications also support non verbal communications. Verbal communications which performed by mouth called oral and its tense to be non verbal communications.
