Abstract

The research aims to investigate was the influence of story telling method to increase the reading interest of the fourth grade student in SD Negeri Demangan Yogyakarta. The research employed quasi experiment technique with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this research are 12 students consist of experiment group. The treatment of story telling method is given to 21 students for four days with 60 minute duration. The finding of the research shows that there is no significant (p = 0,180) between pre-test and post-test conditions. There for, it can be concluded that the hypothesis of the research is rejected/not accepted. Keyword: story telling method, reading interest, children
