Abstract

This study aimed to describe the psychological dynamics become recidivists inmates in prisons Sleman Yogyakarta. Through this exposure is expected to explain the context of the psychological dynamics become recidivist convicts who are focused on the factors underlying become criminals, the process becomes a recidivist convicts and inmates impacts become recidivists. This study used a qualitative approach through a case-study data collection methods of observation and interviews (semi-structured). Informants in this study consisted of two recidivists, recidivists specialist motorcycle (curanmor) and recidivists breaker specialist shops, and has become a prisoner of at least 2 times in jail. The results showed informants experienced problems such as economic, social and psychological pressure. background factors into inmate includes two factors namely: the internal and external factors. Psychological dynamics become prisoners is a collaboration among the factors underlying the convict, the process becomes a recidivist convicts, and the effects become recidivist prisoners. Each informant obtain the same psychological dynamics but have family and social backgrounds are different. Keywords: psychological dynamics, inmates, residivist
