Abstract

Sri Lcstari. The concept of Democration in Education's John Dewey and Fazlur Rahman, Study Analisist Perspective Islamic Education. Disertation. Yogyakarta: Tarbiyah Faculty, University State of Sunan KaJijaga Yogyakarta, 2007. In this time, Islamic Education to face chalenging in globalism world. They must to keep competition in global world. So the person who active in islamic education must meeting in out-side world. They can not separate in out-side world becouse the out-side world always influences all activities. ln fact, that is making good, otherwise there are some bad too. Islamic Education must prepare in facing that moment. We can not be inclussive society, becouse that can make go down in our education system. In the John Dewey concept, he has argument about Democration in Education that leaner must spread his competency, including they creativities. The learner must make connected where his life in society. They can not fell be alienation in his society, they must make contribution in his society too. So they must work together and to respect each-other. They must feel free to develop they potency. In other words when Ieamer can be free, so they can tid what they want to do. In here they try to construct their knowledges. Fazlur Rahman is a good Islamic education thinker too. He has concept of Double Movement. He is pracmatice too, so he always tell that some thing must have use- full in our life. His arguments to show that leaner must develop they capasity by free becouse leaner will be his-self when he can spread his potency. Freedom in positive-argument, that is mean leaner can fell freedom but still in limit of his responsibility, expectively in Islamic teaching including in islamic value. We can not make learner be materialism, we should make leaner in higher position namely as Khalifal Fil Ard. The reason why they must make balance in world life and Akherat.
