Abstract

This research aims to understand strategy to develop public reading park Rumah Asa Yogyakarta. This research is qualitative study with the case study approach. The data collection was done through observation, documentation, and through in-depth interviews with informants who, which were selected purposive sampling. Process of analysis data using the theory Miles and Huberman, which are (1) reduction data: focused on the theme research, (2) the presentation of data describe based on observation, interview, and documentation, and the (3) withdrawal of conclusion: summarizing analysis after stage analysis done. While test the validity of data in the study is done by means of trials credibility data namely with an increase in diligence and triangulation, transferability test, dependability test and the comfirmability. Development strategy of public reading park examined to find out which way creative thingking in managing a public reading park. Resulted from the research can be concluded that public reading park development strategy covering of (1) building TBM based entrepreneurial, (2) community empowerment, (3) interweave relation by certain parties, (4) promotion in social media and mass media and (5) join with the community. Advice given to TBM Rumah Asa that every activity program in TBM Rumah Asa should be planned and scheduled so not impressed sudden. Proximity TBM Rumah Asa partner can be increased with hold activity other than donations books and training .
