Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between mother's secure attachment to the prepubertal girls readiness to face first menstruation (menarche). The sample in this study was 74 elementary students in Budi Mulia Elementary School Seturan at class V and VI. This study uses a quantitative research methods. Measuring instruments used in this research is scale preparedness first menstruation (menarche) made by researcher themselves based on the theory of Yusuf, and secure attachment scale child and mother were also made by researchers based on the theory of Bowlby. Hypothesis testing was done by using a statistical technique test of Pearson product moment correlation using SPSS computer program. Correlation test results showed a correlation coefficient (r xy) = 0,305 with significance level of p = 0.008 (p <0.01), so the hypothesis is accepted. This shows that there is a very significant positive correlation between mother's secure attachment to the prepubertal girls readiness to face first menstruation (menarche). Effective contribution of secure attachment to the prepubertal girls readiness to face first menstruation (menarche) was 9.3%, while 90.7% are influenced by other factors that are not disclosed in this study such as: age, resources and attitudes.
