Abstract

This study aimed to explore and understand the form of wife adjusment in young marriage at Sumenep and also to know supporting and hampering factors.the informants consist of 3 wives of young marriage under 19th years old.this reaearch was conducted using a qualitative method with a case studyapproach. The data is collected by interview, observation and documentation. The data is anlysis by reduction,coding, categorization, synthesis and interpretation. The result of this study indicated that every informant has different marital adjusment. Adjusment pattern in the begining period will be succesfull if there is effective communication and desire to learn between each others. The supporting factors such as social support from family and friend, ability to develop interpersonal relationship, high education,maturity of each others and marriage commitment. The humpering factors is permissif parenting, staying with husband’s family when she doesn’t have emotional maturity and social perseption of marriage that assumed maturity will grow when someone has a family.
