Abstract

Social media has been a trend almost in all over the world at this time, including Indonesia. One of Indonesia’s social media is mindtalk application which is based interest to accommodate the interests of its users in the form of channel. User is the most important stakeholder in developing of system. User experience/UX focuses on deep understanding about the user, what the user needs, what the user evaluate, the user ability, and also the user limitation. From the information that the writer got, the writer will do analyzing the user experience/ux on mindtalk with usability parameter based on Jacob Nielsen theory which aims to get a conclusion how good usability level is measured based on the value of learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfactions from mindtalk and also generates some recommendations factor improvement which is researched is expected useful for all another developers of social media. Validity test is used by the writer to 30 respondents to know the statement valid or not. After the statements on questioners are valid, next is do giving online questioners to 100 respondents. Research design is used by the writer is descriptive concept because the characteristic is explaining or describing the phenomenon which is researched, while the approach which is used is quantitative. The conclusion that the writer got in this research shows that level (rate) of usability on mindtalk is at a high level with a value of 55%.
