Abstract

This study discusses Relationship user motivation and Utilization Journal of Print in Library Graduate programs UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The purpose of this study was to (1) describe the level of user motivation library graduate UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, (2) describe the use of print journals in the library graduate UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, (3) prove a link user motivation and utilization of print journals graduate programs in library UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This study is a quantitative research. The number of samples taken were 94 graduate students. Sampling using incidental. Data collection method used was non-participant observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaire (questionnaire enclosed). Hypothesis testing data analysis using product moment correlation formula for calculating the average of each variable using the formula of the mean and the grand mean. Data were processed using SPSS version 16.0 for Windows. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship user motivation and utilization of print journals in the library graduate program UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Evidenced by the correlation coefficient of 0.400 with significance level of 5% r table 0.207. User motivation including high category with a grand mean score of 3.00 and the utilization of print journals including high category with a grand mean score of 2.78. The correlation value is positive, meaning that the higher user motivation the higher the utilization rate of print journals in the library graduate. Suggestions author of the library increased the number of search options back to pep user up interest in visiting the library as well as increase the number of journals in order to support the collection of lectures at the graduate curriculum.
