Abstract
This study aimed to describe the values relevance of the Novel “Pasukan Matahari” by Gol A Gong with the educational function of the school library in educational perspektive character Kemendiknas in 2010. This research is qualitative type of library research (library research) using the data in the form of narration, description and dialogue in the form of written data on novel “Pasukan Matahari” by Gol A Gong totaling 368 pages. This study used a pragmatic approach. The data collection is done with the literature study and documentation. Analysis method of data used in this study is a content analysis method. Based on research, research concluded that the character educational value in the novel in all chapters. The value of character education were found among other: religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, the spirit of nationalism, patriotism, respect for the achievements, friends / communicative, love peace, love reading, environmental care, social care, responsibility. With the discovery of all the values of character education Novel “Pasukan Matahari” by Gol A Gong relevant to the education function of the school library.
