Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the suitability of library collections of Public Library of Boyolali with National Library Standard (SNP 003: 2011). This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection methods of this research are observation, interview and documentation. Then, the process of data analysis using in this research is Miles and Huberman, as data reduction, data presentation and verification. In other hand, this research also uses an analysis of qualitative data to measure the result of evaluation in the form of suitabilitynumeral percentage. The testing of data validation uses credibility test that is by an extension of observation, endurance improvement, and member-check. In conclusion, the major collection of Public Library of Boyolali is appropriate with the National Library Standard (SNP 003: 2011). Three aspects of it are appropriate with SNP 2011, namely the types of collection, reference collection, and library material organizing. Then, one of it is almost appropriate with SNP 2011, namely collection maintenance, and five aspects of it is not appropriate with SNP 2011, namely collections per capita, age of collection, collection development, library material expenditure, re-count and weeding. If the research is presented in qualitative form, the collection of Public Library of Boyolali is 39% appropriate with the National Library Standard (SNP 003: 2011). The researcher suggests that Public Library of Boyolali make some improvements for whole aspect and increase the number of collection, budget of library material, composition of written collection development policy, renewing the program of re-count and weeding, and immediately determine the guidelines of Public Library of Boyolali’s management.
