Abstract

Degenerative diseases are illnesses that occur or accompany the aging process in a person. Degenerative diseases is a disease which really has been associated with patterns of behavior, including dietary and physical activity. People in society rely on the doctor however with the risk high expense and lack eficiency of time. To handle the problem the technology that can be used is an expert system. The purpose of this expert system application that it will assist and facilitate public to know the illness by input the perceived symptoms through the application of web-based expert system so further treatment of the degenerative diseases can be quickly done. This expert system uses a certainty factor method and in an inference engine forward chaining method. System trial indicate that sytem is capable to diagnose degenerative diseases based on symptoms suffered by user. Based on the results of the percentage of tests performed, it can be concluded that the functional expert system is able to well function. most of the users claimed 61.7% agreed to interface and the percentage of testing based on medical records system is 73.3%.
