Abstract

This research aim to determine the role of teacher and librarian in implementing information literacy in SD Muhammadiyah Condongcatur Yogyakarta. The method used is qualitative. Data collection techniques used in this research observation, documentation and interview. Analysis of the data using the theory of Milles and Huberman performed with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Test the validity of the data using an extension techniques of observation, triangulation of sources, and memberchek. The results of this study concluded that teachers and librarians act as facilitators who teach the students to recognize the needs of information, access information, and evaluate information. From the results of this study researchers suggest development of information literacy for teachers and librarians, it is does to provide a deeper understanding on information literacy and information literacy can be applied to the fullest. In addition it should be increased back of collaboration between teachers, librarians and students in information literacy activities, such as holding a writing competition, create bulletin boards, holding a book or a book fair event, as well as visits in various libraries around
