Abstract

Everyone understands that life is full of uncertainties, that could cause a risk then there is need for insurance as a means to transfer risk. With the existence of insurance a person can rest in running activities and therefore the existence of insurance for someone is a requirement. Insurance is an agreement in which a person is binding an insurer to receive a premium to provide a reimbursement for any loss, damage, or lost profits that may occur due to an unexpected event. The development of Islamic insurance in Indonesia is growing rapidly. This happens because some of the factors affecting the demand for insurance products among which are the promotion, premiums, income and level of education. This study aimed to examine the effect of promotions, premiums, income customers and customers' level of education on insurance demand PT Takaful Branch office of Gedong Kuning. Data was taken from the questionnaire which distributed to customers of PT Takaful. The method was used is multiple linear regression method. The results showed that the adjusted R-square of 0.500 which means 50% of insurance demand in PT Takaful Branch office of Gedong Kuning was influenced jointly by variables which was described by the model while the remaining 50% was influenced by other factors outside the model. Partially, sale has not significant effect on insurance demand. Premiums and customers' education level has a significant effect on insurance demand. While revenue from customers has a negative effect and no significant on insurance demand.
