Abstract

The relationship between West and East produces a theory so-called Orientalism Theory. Simply, orientalism is knowledge that discusses about oriental world. The theory is made by the West to understand and to reconstruct the oriental world. In this case, the West choose the Middle East as their practice of orientalism study. The West regards the Middle East as Islam. Here, Four Lions movie is a 2010 British movie which tells Islam in different side concerning on terrorism. Islam’s identity which is presented in this movie is inaccuracy. Therefore, the research focuses on how this movie portrays Islam. The research applies Edward W. Said’s orientalism theory. The method of this research is descriptive qualitative by conducting library research. As a result, the research finds that Muslim characters unite in their tendency to revenge. They are psychologically unable to behave peaceful. They also should not be trusted through terror action scene and image of terrorist.
