Abstract

This research is motivated from good company performance seen from management ability to earn profit during run of company operation. One way to know the performance of the company is through financial statements. This study aims to determine the effect of premiums, claims, investment returns, underwriting returns on earnings levels. The sample of this research is 18 general insurance companies sharia year 2014-2015 chosen by using method of puposive sampling Technique analyze data used is panel data regression by using Eviews 8. The results obtained in this study indicate that simultaneously (F test) premiums, claims, investment returns, underwriting results simultaneously affect the level of profit (Return on asset). The value of determination coefficient (Adj R Square) shows that 62,79% of variation of return on asset can be explained by independent variable, and the rest equal to 37,21% explained by other variable not examined in this research. While partially (t-test) only premium and claims variable that has a significant positive effect on Return on asset.
