Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze and explain the effect Presidential election of the United States November 8, 2016 against to the stoks price and trading volume activity of companies listed in Jakarta Islamic Index (JII), after Donald Trump as 45 President election of the United States. This research method is event study, which will analyze the change of abnormal return and abnormal trading volume activity around the event of Presidential election of the United States November 8, 2016. The results of the first hypothesis show that there is no significant change of the average abnormal return around the event of the Presidential election of the United States November 8, 2016. It’s mean that this research supports the concept semistrong form of efficiency market. While the results of the second hypothesis testing showed that there is no significant change in average abnormal trading activity volume around the event of the Presidential election of the United States November 8, 2016. It’s mean that the market is still doing wait and see as a prudentialy principles and avoid risk.
