Abstract

This research to describe about intercultural communication problems, one of the problems is a cultural shock. Culture shock is a felling of disorientation, loneliness, insecurity or confusion that can occur when someone leaves his or her home country to live in a new culture. It happened on student of IKPM Musi Banyuasin who have different cultures with Yogyakarta’s culture. The students can’t be able to understand how to build interrcultural communication. The interaction that intercultural communication. The differences among them such us culture intercourse, personality environment situation make IKPM MUBA’s student feel that uncertainty which can influence their process of live in Yogyakarta. With those differences, this research intended to know and explain of the efforts students of IKPM Musi Banyuasin resolve the culture shock of intercultural communication with people in Yogyakarta by using anxiety and management theory. How they do self-motivation for interaction with other culture and can solve the problem of theirselves.
