Abstract

This research concerns on autism children by the reason these children has a unique characteristics, so the concern is not to dismiss the main problem, but it is more directed to achieve the weakness. One of the efforts to minimalize the problem is by developing emotional intelligence by applying Use Of Visual Learning Media The aims of this research are to describe the emotional intelligence toward autism children on SMP at SLB Bina Anggita Yogyakarta, to describe how visual media is able to develop emotional intelligence to autism children and to describe what factor that becomes obstacle on implementing visual media in developing emotional intelligence of autism children. Theory used is about emotional intelligence. Use Of Visual Learning Media and about autism children. Kind of the research is qualitative research which is case study and descriptive. This research is trying to describe the problem according to the research result and analyze that data. Subjects on this research are teachers of SLB Bina Anggita Yogyakarta and the autism children. Meanwhile, the object of the research is about The Use Of Visual Learning Media applied in developing emotional intelligence of autism children. The research result of the emotional intelligence of autism children on Junior High School in SLB Bina Anggita Yogyakarta are: they can interact, understand their task when doing an activity, has a strong motivation, emphatic. The Use Of Visual Learning Media in this research is able to develop the emotional intelligence of autism children is seen from a good communication among them, high motivation, and able to convey the will to others, eye contact, visual media media applied is picture, symbol and written. The obctacles on implementing visual media is the team work of the teachers is still needed
