Abstract

Rendy Nugraha Frasandy, The Impelemtation of Remedial Teaching Through Peer Tutor Method and Work Assignment Method toward Students’ Learning Outcomes of MIN Sleman Yogyakarta. A thesis of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education Study Program, Master Program of Tarbiyah and Teaching Faculty UIN Sunan Kalijaga 2015. This thesis was aimed to know the difference of students’ learning outcomes using remedial teaching program between peer tutor method and convensional method in MIN Sleman Yogyakarta, to know the difference of students’ learning outcomes using remedial teaching program between work assignment method and convensional method at MIN Sleman Yogyakarta. This research methodology was quasi experimental research with nonequivalent control group design where the subjects were the fifth grade students who had not passed the passing grade fixing by the school, that is 75 and also obligated to follow remedial program. The students who followed remedial teaching program at MIN Tempel consisted of 18 students from the total 94 students or 19.1%. However, at MIN Yogyakarta 1 consisted of 13 students from the total 33 students or 39.3%. The examining was done using nonpharametric with Man-Whitney test or U test. The result of this research showed that, first, pair tutor method had more influence than convensional method in increasing students’ learning outcomes. It was proved by the average (mean) of posttest scores in experimental class, 8.11 higher than the average (mean) of posttest scores in control class, 6 at MIN Tempel. Meanwhile, at MIN Yogyakarta 1, the everage (mean) of posttest scores in experimental class was 9.5 higher than the average (mean) of posttest scores in control class, 6. Then, from the analysis result using Mann-Whitney test (U Test) using SPSS 16.0 for windows, it could be seen that test statistics table showed asymp.sig.(2tailed) as high as 0.017 < 0.05, so that Ha was accepted at MIN Tempel. Moreover, at MIN Yogyakarta 1, it showed that asymp. Sig. (2tailed) as high as 0.002 < 0.05, so that Ha wa accepted. It meant that the treatment using pair tutor had more influence in increasing students’ learning outcomes in remedial teaching program. Second, work assignment method had more influence than convensional method in increasing students’ learning outcomes. It was proved by the average (mean) of posttest scores in experimental class as high as 8.33, higher than the average (mean) of posttest scores in control class, 5.88 at MIN Tempel. In the other hand, at MIN Yogyakarta 1, the average (mean) of posttest scores in experimental class as high as 9.5, higher than the average (mean) of posttest scores in control class as high as 6.42. Furthermore, from the analysis result of Mann-Whitney (U test) using SPSS 16.0 for windows, it could be seen that test statistics table showed asymp.Sig.(2tailed) as high as 0. 006 < 0.05, so that Ha was accepted at MIN Tempel. Whilst, at MIN Yogyakarta 1, it showed asymp. Sig. (2tailed) as high as 0.002 < 0.05, so that Ha was accepted. It could be concluded that Ha was accapted. It means that the treatment using work assignment has more influence in increasing the students’ learning outcomes in remedial teaching program. [ABSTRAK] Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang mengikuti program remedial teaching melalui metode tutor sebaya dengan metode konvensional di MIN Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta, untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang mengikuti program remedial teaching melalui metode pemberian tugas dengan metode konvensional di MIN Kabupaten Sleman Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design, dimana yang menjadi subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V yang belum mencapai KKM yang ditetapkan sekolah sebesar 75 dan wajib mengikuti program remedial. Siswa yang mengikuti program remedial teaching di MIN Tempel berjumlah 18 siswa dari total 94 siswa atau 19,1%, sedangkan di MIN Yogyakarta I berjumlah 13 siswa dari total 33 siswa atau 39,3%. Pengujian yang dilakukan melalui statistik nonparametrik dengan uji Man-Whitney atau U Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Pertama metode tutor sebaya lebih berpengaruh daripada metode konvensional dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Dibuktikan dengan rata-rata (mean) nilai posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 8,11 lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata-rata (mean) nilai posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 6 pada MIN Tempel. Sementara pada MIN Yogyakarta 1 rata-rata (mean) nilai posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 9,5 lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata-rata (mean) nilai posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 6. Kemudian dari hasil analisis Uji Mann-Whitney (U Test) melalui SPPS 16.0 for windows dapat dilihat tabel test statistics diperoleh hasil asymp.Sig.(2tailed) sebesar 0,017 < 0,05, sehingga Ha diterima pada MIN Tempel. Sementara pada MIN Yogyakarta 1 diperoleh hasil asymp.Sig.(2tailed) sebesar 0,002 < 0,05, sehingga Ha diterima. Hal ini berarti bahwa perlakuan (treatment) berupa metode tutor sebaya terbukti lebih berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada program remedial teaching. Kedua metode pemberian tugas lebih berpengaruh daripada metode konvensional dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Dibuktikan dengan rata-rata (mean) nilai posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 8,33 lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata-rata (mean) nilai posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 5,88 pada MIN Tempel. Sementara pada MIN Yogyakarta 1 rata-rata (mean) nilai posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 9,5 lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata-rata (mean) nilai posttest kelas kontrol sebesar 6,42.
