Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the activity of iPad program for students in Tumbuh 1 Elementary School Yogyakarta in efforts to increase media literacy. This research was a descriptive quantitative research with one variable that is increasing media literacy of students inTumbuh 1 Elementary School Yogyakarta. Data collecting in this research used questioner with 43 respondents from grade 4 and 5 in Tumbuh 1 Elementary School Yogyakarta and interview for principal, teachers, and librarian. Data sampling in this research used purposive sampling which is a technique of sample sampling based on certain considerations. This research the data obtained was processed using SPSS version 23 for windows. Furthermore, the data analysis of this research used mean formula and grand mean to get quantitative result. The analysis result shows that iPad program is effective in effort to increase media literacy of students grade 4 dan 5 in Tumbuh 1 Eelementary School Yogyakarta, because the result from the calculation of the variable is in good category with mean about 3,15. Furthermore, totality from sub-indicator had a mean described as, accessung 3,35, analysis 3,32, evaluation 3,34, message communication 3,07, technical skill 2,98, critical understanding 3,11. From the result of this research, in the future the students can improve the technical skill because in this research the technical skill included to the lowest grade category.
