Abstract
Nowadays, the development of sharia insurance companies in Indonesia is growing rapidly along with a very tight competition of traditional insurance companies. The development of a company could be seen from its ability to increase profitability. The profitability could be influenced by some factors which is financial ratio. This study aims to identify the influence of Current Ratio (CR), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Net Profit Margin (NPM), and Working Capital to Total Assets (WCTA) toward the profitability of sharia insurance companies in Indonesia. The sample of the study was a – 10 registered general sharia insurance company in OJK. The data collection was in the form of an annual financial report of general sharia insurance company year 2012 up to 2015. The researcher used panel data regression analysis as data analysis method. The result of the study shows that the variables of Current Ratio (CR), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Net Profit Margin (NPM), and Working Capital to Total Assets (WCTA) have significant influence toward the profitability of sharia insurance company simultaneously. While, in partially, Current Ratio (CR), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Working Capital to Total Assets (WCTA) have no influence on profitability. The variable of Net Profit Margin (NPM) has a positive influence toward the profitability significantly.
