Abstract

Ifvan Nur Cahyanto, 11210053. A Graduating Paper: technique cinematograph in visualize criticisms of religion ( the studies of PK movie ) . Department of Islamic Comunications and Broadcasting, Faculty of Dakwah and Communication UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, 2017 Film is a media which has massive power and influence in reaching many social segments; this is affected by cinematography technique that actively has a role in determining quality of picture where the picture that is shown can deliver the message to the audients. PK tells about an alien who tries to find the God in many religions with the conflict in it. This research aims to know how the role of cinematography technique used in visualizing critique toward religious people in PK film by Rajkumar Hirani. This research uses qualitative approach with qualitative descriptive as a type of research. Data analysis is using visual matters to analyze the process and motive of object of research. Data collection is using documentation technique, which is PK film. Result of the research shows that cinematography technique which is widely used is objective angle, eye level angle, medium shot, tracking camera, and cinema continuity content. As for the analysis result shows critiques toward religious people, such as: First , trust / confidence described as people and obedience on religion in believe , but obedience is sometimes used to a certain interest. Second, symbols, with the symbol as the identity of a religious group , it will cause a preconception and discrimination against the other groups .Third , rituals , rituals intended as tangible form for someone to religious right course .Every religion having ritual different and it has a different also , both in means of religious rites, worship, and in proving his sacrifice before the God.
