Abstract

Currently the development of data communications on the network includes types of audio and video data. The feature that many users need is video streaming, so it requires a good network speed to be able to access streaming video services. In order not to burden the performance of the network bandwidth capacity is required larger. Currently WiFi and 4G is a network that is known to have very good speed. This necessarily requires special attention to comparing network speeds on both networks. So users can choose the best network when accessing streaming video services. The method used in this research is the method of observation. Perform observation techniques and data collection on the comparison of WiFi and 4G network speed when accessing streaming video. This data collection is done using the network SUKANet WiFi and 4G in the environment of the Faculty of Science and technology campus UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Parameter used in this research is Bandwidth parameter. The results of this study were analyzed so as to get the value of comparison on the network speed SUKANet WiFi and 4G. Overall time speed transfer rate of streaming video on SUKAnet WiFi network highest is 10 KB /s while in 4G highest is 9.3 KB /s. On the local site the highest speed at the afternoon with a speed of 10 KB /s while in 4G with a speed of 7.7 KB / s. As for overseas sites the speed of both networks in the morning with the highest speed SUKAnet WiFi 9.3 KB / s while 4G of 7.5 KB / s.
