Abstract

Museum is an institution that has function to protect, develop, utilize collection such as objects, buildings, structures that have been declaired as the cultural heritage or not the cultural heritage and communicate it to the public. Studying about history is an important think for a nation to foster nationalism. In addition studying history could make the next generation more appreciate the struggle of our heroes who seized ours independence from the invanders in the past. Now, the museum visitors especially teenagers come to museum with various reasons, such as to take photograph or selfies in museum because they think museum is a good place for self-documentation. This research aimed to know how teenagers lifestyle could effect museum representation. This research used qualitative descriptive method with reflective approach as an approach for representation analysis. Data were collected by using in-depth interview method, observation and documentation. Data reliability were checked by using triangulation source. This research shows that teenagers lifestyle could be the one of causes that changed teenagers representation about historical museum as a place to study but a good place to take selfies or photograph Keyword : Representation, Reflective approach, Teenagers lifestyle
