Abstract

In order to reduce the divorce rate in Klaten, each year increases the clerical court by using effective means of suppressing that number, one of them through mediation procces. This study aims to determine how interpersonal communication between judges as a mediator with married couples in divorce cases in the Pengadilan Agama Klaten. This research uses qualitative research method. The theory used is the components of interpersonal communications. This research is to know how interpersonal communications between mediator with married couples in mediation so that they discouraged to divorce. Mediator uses the approach personally in accordance with the componentsthat exist in interpersonal communication that is communicator, encoding, message, communicant channel, decoding, response, interference and context in reconcile married couple. And do the principles that exist in the mediation of voluntary confidentiality, neutral empowerment and unique solutions. Interpersonal communication conducted by the judge as mediator is the openness between judges as mediator with married couple, so that they can feel comfortable when in mediation process.
