Abstract

Drug Abuse is one of some social problems that often arise in society. Drug addicts are mostly ostracized and publicly sanctioned because they are considered to have such kind of negative impacts. One way to make the addicts can be accepted by society is to heal them and one of some healing efforts can be done through a continuous communication in order to influence their behavior and of course through the process of social rehabilitation. Schizophrenia is the condition when the addicts are in their danger level of addiction. At this level, the addicts will be frequently hallucinating. They’re already getting some mental disorders, begin to hallucinate and then suffer from dependency syndrome. Rehabilitation is carried out to free the addicts from the addiction itself. In this case, the researcher tries to conduct a Qualitative Description Study at Griya Rehabilitas Siloam DI. Yogyakarta to examine the Interpersonal communication in the rehabilitation process. Griya Rehabilitas Siloam is an institution that uses the Interpersonal communication process with homelike feel as one of some efforts to rehabilitate the addicts even in Schizophrenia stage, so that they feel like family, this way is conducted to recall the memory of their family. This rehabilitation aims to a recovery process in order to keep the addicts from falling on relapse. Keywords: Schizophrenia, Interpersonal Communication, Rehabilitation
