Abstract

This study aims to determine factors that influence the utilization of the ancient manuscripts collection in the museum library Tamansiswa Dewantara Kirti Griya Yogyakarta museum. This research uses quantitative method with descriptive approach. The population of this study is the users of Tamansiswa Dewantara Kirti Griya Museum from January to December 2016 total as many as 815 people. The sample of research is 89 respondents taken from the population with use Yamane formula. Methods of data collection using questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation. Sampling data collection using Accidental Sampling method. Data analysis using mean and grand mean method. This research uses one variable that is factors that influence the utilization of the ancient manuscripts collection with six indicators. The result of the research shows that: (1)indicator of requirement with average value 3,23 including good category, (2)indicator motive with average value 3,33 including very good category, (3)indicator interest with average value of 2.99 including good category, (4)indicator completeness of the collection with average value of 3.02 including good category, (5)indicator librarian skills in serving users with average value of 3.52 including very good category, (6) indicator of availability of search facility return with average value 2,87 including good category. The results of grand mean calculation on the overall indicator obtained value of 3.20 so thatinfluence factorsof the utilization ancient manuscript in the library Tamansiswa Dewantara Kirti Griya Yogyakarta Museum including good category. Advice from researchers to the library Tamansiswa Dewantara Kirti Griya Museum Yogyakarta museum is about to do clasificlation again to overall collections of books in libraries, adding human resources librarians, and add OPAC facility making it easier for users in the process of information retrieval.
