Master's thesis, Study Program: Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies (IIS) Concentration: Library and Information Science UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, 2017 The development of library and information science in Indonesia can be seen from its scientific publication. Scientific publication itself can be a benchmark of national research productivity. Once the importance of scientific publications has caused the Indonesian government itself to require librarians, lecturers, and students to undertake this scientific publication through Permenpan no. 9 Year 2014, Permenpan no. 17 of 2013, and Circular Letter of Dirjen Dikti No. 152 / E / T / 2012. Crowley's previous research mentioned that there is a publication gap between two groups of researchers in libraries and information librarians as practitioners and lecturers as academics. Publications conducted by lecturers are considered more theoretically oriented, while librarians as practitioners pay more attention to practical topics based on daily experience. Based on this background, the researcher is interested to conduct comparison of scientific publication between librarian, lecturer, and student. This research is important to know the characteristics of scientific publications between librarians, lecturers, and students viewed in terms of productivity and the tendency of the subjects of written articles. In addition, this study also became an evaluation of the productivity of the author and the tendency of the subject of the article. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative research method using data of all scientific articles of library discipline and information indexed by Portal Garuda IPI 2012 to 2016. Data analysis in this research is done by two stages of calculating productivity writer using lotka law, and look for the tendency of subjects of scientific articles through subject analysis. Researchers found some research results First productivity writers articles library and information science is still relatively low with 83.21% of authors contributed 1 article. Having known that the data obtained following the distribution of lotka law then made a comparison of productivity between librarians, lecturers, and students. Based on the results of the calculation is known that the productivity of librarians is higher than lecturers, and students with an average of 1.65 articles produced by the author librarian. Both tendency of subject of library science articles and information of each group of writers can be seen from the highest frequency of keywords used. Librarian, the highest frequency of keywords used are Librarian, Academic Library, Information Technology, Quality Of Service, and Information Literacy. Lecturers, highest frequency of keywords that is Literacy Information, Comunication, Information Technology, Reading Level and academic library. While the highest keyword frequency of the articles written by students is Quality Of Service, Librarian, academic library, information technology and User survey.
